Phoenix, Ariz. (April 4, 2022) – The Arizona Taco Festival is celebrating its 13 Year Anniversary, bringing another year of fiesta fun bringing more competing restaurants than ever, from all around the country competing for cash, prizes and bragging rights, while an expected 30,000 attendees feast their way through more than 100 types of tacos throughout the weekend.
The Arizona Taco Festival, Sat & Sun, Nov. 12 & 13, 11am-7pm, earned its star status as an event that offering ALL THE TACOS—chicken, pork, beef, seafood, and veggie. Salsa, guacamole and other Mexican fare also are celebrated and devoured at the event each year. Last year, restaurants, caterers, amateurs and nightclub/food spots sold more than 100,000 tacos at this annual classic.

Good Tacos, Serious Competition & 50 Taco Society Judges. Arizona Taco Festival is a fabulous foodie event and simultaneously a serious taco competition. More than 50 Taco Society judges are sequestered to determine winners in double-blind tests in a closed tent for anonymous scoring. Points are awarded and weighted for presentation, taste and texture. Cumulatively, scores lead to an overall Grand Champion for each day.
Eating & Fun. Outside the judge’s tent, this exciting festival offers its legendary Tequila Expo — featuring more than 100 types of Tequila, Mezcal, Sotol, Bacanora and more, the Ay Chihuahua! Beauty Pageant; Lucha Libre Wrestling; Hot Chili Pepper Contest; Day of the Dead Wedding; local bands, DJs, and more. Most importantly, the festival will grant attendees access to tacos prepared by 50+ competing professional taco makers, restaurants, chefs, and food trucks.
Tequila Expo Tent The popular Tequila Expo offers patrons the chance to sample from more than 100 agave spirits. A tasting pass is $20 for 10 samples of fine tequila. a now-legendary Tequila Expo featuring more than 100 types of Tequila, Mezcal, Sotol, Bacanora and more.
Ay Chihuahua! Beauty Pageant Watch more than 15 sassy Chihuahuas – yes, of the canine variety—strut their four-legged stuff across the Main Stage.
Live Lucha Libre Wrestling Arena. Enjoy live Lucha Libre wrestling all weekend long from comfortable seating in an arena-setting around the ring. Also, get a change to meet the wrestlers themselves during the meet-and-greet and photo op.
Day of the Dead Wedding. There is so much taco love in the air, that people get married! The event will marry two lucky lovebirds who are adorned in Day of the Dead make up and regalia.
Hot Sauce Expo. New to the event, it’s resident Hot Chili expert Vic Clinco who has the largest collection of hot sauces in the country, will be organizing a hot sauce sampling tent made up of over 100 types of hot sauces.

- Main Stage. The Main Stage will offer constant live music from surf to salsa, the Day of the Dead Wedding and all the fun-filled contests.
